The University of New South Wales
Jan 6, 2004 to Feb 13, 2004
UNSW supposedly has 39,000 students here, but it is the summer and I don't
think there are any summer school classes. The campus is really compact,
probably smaller than the size of Notre Dame (the reason being a lack of
parking lots and athletic buildings.

My dorm has only 8 inhabitants because it's undergoing a major renovation. It
is called "New College" and seems like a good dorm. The main RA is a PhD
student from my lab and she lives in a really big flat that has a big
kitchen, which is great because a bunch of us alternate making dinner on
weeknights. In this picture, it is the dark building in front that has
scaffolding on it.

As you can see my room is smaller than even a single in Sorin, but it does
have its own bathroom, about equal in size to the room, but that's not
saying much. Honey O's are my substitute as Cheerios cannot be found.

This is the UNSW Cricket Field, right in the backyard of my dorm. The building
in the background is where my laboratory is.
I'm not quite sure why the sky looks so green in this picture.

In the background, across the street, is the Royal Randwick Racecourse for
horseracing. Haven't been over to it yet.

This is another picture of the building with my laboratory.
The person sitting on the bench is my friend Joel...trying to study despite the
beautiful weather. This is their "quad."
